A Barnsley IT Support Case Study

How We Deliver Business IT Support in Barnsley

We meet two kinds of clients as we go about our day-to-day business. First, there are clients who just want us to get their tech working, ASAP (and that’s fair enough!) Then there are clients who take an active interest in the way we do what we do.

If you fall into the second camp, then this look at our Barnsley IT support services was written with you in mind. First, we’ll show you how the whole process works, from start to finish. Then, we’ll look at the experience of a specific Barnsley business we support.

Our Approach to IT Support

Step One – Initial Contact

Our clients come from a range of sources. As established Barnsley IT technicians, we have a strong reputation in South Yorkshire, and we regularly attract new clients through word-of-mouth referrals. Our website also brings in plenty of trade, while the fact that we have a physical presence gives us extra visibility and inspires confidence (we’re based in a bricks-’n’-mortar computer repair shop in Barnsley – you can learn more about our business here).

Clients typically reach out to us via our online contact forms, or by calling us. Either way, this initial contact offers us the chance to ensure that we’re on the same page about the service that we can provide. We understand the importance of offering this initial advice on a no-obligation basis, and clients are free to walk away, right up to the point where they sign their IT support contract.

Step Two – An IT Support Needs Assessment

We offer a choice of 3 pre-built support packages – covering remote, on-site and pay-as-you-go support. Some clients need a helping hand to select the most appropriate option, and we’re happy to look at their business’ circumstances and offer advice on a case-by-case basis. If required, we can schedule a site visit at this stage – this is especially valuable for larger business, where we may need to make a more in-depth assessment of the devices, systems and networks we’ll be overseeing.

Step Three – An IT Support Contract

By this stage, we should have a clear idea of the level of support that’s required. Often, our pre-built IT support plans cover a client’s needs perfectly, but occasionally a bespoke contract is needed. In this case, we’ll clearly define the full scope of the support on offer.

If we provide you with a bespoke contract, you can expect absolute clarity as to the type of support we’ll provide, the period of support, as well as the total price of our services. We would stress that even at this stage, you are under no obligation to sign. We respect the fact that you may prefer the flexibility of our pay-as-you-go IT support, and our no-pressure approach means that we won’t hit you with any hard-sell tactics!

You can learn more about our plans as a managed service provider for small businesses.

Step Four – An Ongoing Partnership

Having signed up to one of our IT support plans, you can expect to receive a blend of routine and ‘emergency-response’ support. Our routine, day-to-day support is actually at the heart of our service, and the beauty of this approach is that it allows us to prevent, rather than cure, the majority of IT problems.

Our plans also allow for either remote or on-site support, enabling us to provide on-demand assistance, as required. Naturally, call outs also offer us a great opportunity to have a face-to-face discussion with our clients, and ensure that their needs are being fully met. It’s this kind of attention to detail that has earned us our strong reputation within the South Yorkshire business community.

What Our Clients Say About Our IT Support Services

Recently, we were contacted by the team at Arnold & Co Ltd, a firm of financial advisers based here in Barnsley. This client was initially seeking help with a hosted business telephony solution, but also wanted the security of having an IT support contract in place…

Testimonial from our client Arnold & Co

We were looking for some help setting up a new IT system for our new office, we wanted information on VoIP telephone systems and also ongoing IT Support.

After numerous conversations and meetings with various IT Companies (which were no use at all and mega expensive) I found Stephensons.

After an initial discussion with Macauley, we instantly clicked.  He was on my wave length.  He understood straight away what we were looking for. He explained things in plain English so that we knew what to expect and how things worked.

He instantly got to work sorting solutions for our business, straight away we set up our ongoing IT support.

Macauley did very in depth research into VoIP systems and Networks and found solutions for everything that we needed for our business.

Macauley installed everything and now provides ongoing IT support whenever we need it.

He is excellent with all our staff members.

And as for the cost, he is fantastic.  Considering what the other companies wanted to charge for half of the service that Macauley provides you cannot go wrong.

We cannot recommend Macauley (Stephensons IT Support Solutions) enough.

Fantastic and thank you for your help and support’

Kind Regards, Marie Arnold
